Ideally the registered owner of the vehicle will be present at time of collection. However, we know what this isn’t always possible – instead, we are able to recover your car with a family member or friend assisting our driver.

In order for us to be able to collect your vehicle we need:

V5C (log book)
Vehicle keys

Only have one but not the other? We can still scrap your car as long as you have an alternative prof of ownership, such as a tax reminder or SORN document that is dated within the last three months.

Unfortunately if you don’t have your V5C or keys, we are unable to scrap your vehicle.

The person present during collection will need to provide Benfleet Scrap Co’s driver with relevant identification, such as a photo driving license or an in-date passport alongside a utility bill dated within the past three months.

We can pay you in cash or cheque upon collection. Please note that a cheque can only be made out to the person present when we pick up your vehicle and it must be pre-arranged with Benfleet beforehand.

We can only pay in cash if you have a valid MOT certificate for the vehicle being scrapped.
