It should simply take a matter of minutes to collect your scrap car. This will unmistakably depend on where it is and how easy or hard it is for our driver to securely stack it onto our recovery truck. 

With regards to gathering your scrap car in Witham, ideally we require the vehicle's V5C (log book) and keys. In case you don't have both of these, we are unfortunately not able to scrap your car. 

If you have lost your keys however have the V5C, we can scrap your car. In like manner, in case you have your keys however no log book, we can scrap your car. In this case, we would need to provide alternative proof of ownership – either a SORN document or tax reminder dated within the last three months. 

The person present will need to provide us with relevant identification. Ideally this should be a photo driving licence but if this is not available, we accept an in-date passport AND utility bill with address dated within the last three months.

When collecting a car for scrap, Benfleet Scrap Co can pay you in two ways – cheque or cash. If paying by cheque, legally, this needs to be made out to the person our driver meets at you car. If you are unable to be there, the cheque will be made out to your friend, relative or neighbour.
